Mister Sunshine is a creative sound design and audio production studio. The idea behind it is pretty simple. It’s a remote studio with top-of-the-line gear in a custom-designed room, producing great work with no compromises. To date, Mister Sunshine has mostly been a one-man venture, working with network clients like CNN, Comedy Central, MTV, Paramount Network and FX, as well as various production companies across the entertainment industry. Moving forward, an audio intern will help scale current efforts and develop the processes that make that growth possible and sustainable.

As an Audio Post Intern, you’ll work directly with the founder assisting with audio sessions, marketing and building/maintaining client relationships. You’ll learn from an experienced sound designer/audio post mixer and experience the ins and outs of growing a small business first-hand. You’ll be expected to explore your own passion and interests in sound to help guide your own learning experience throughout the course of the internship. 

An ideal candidate is excited about sound design and audio for picture and interested in an alternative environment outside of the traditional studio system. Some experience with Pro Tools is preferred, as well as a musical background and an understanding of the basic concepts of sound for film/video. 

The Role:

  • Assist with sound design/mix session prep and delivery

  • Gather sound effects and field recording for inclusion in our library

  • Take on social media and marketing initiatives

  • Develop client/resource lists and create a process that tracks relationships/projects efficiently

  • Research and document new technology and techniques in sound for picture

Requirements:

  • Desire to build a career in the audio/film industry

  • Experience working with DAWs (Pro Tools preferred)

  • Ability to self-manage and organize a variety of work tasks

  • Solid oral and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Completion of a program related to audio engineering or sound design

  • Strong musical background

  • Solid social media skills

  • GSuite proficiency
